Montessori Preschool at Educare Children's Center

Child Care

Preparing for grade school is an important part of child development. They should know what the difference is from good and bad. Our preschool and montessori school curriculum is created to help them get ready for kindergarten and beyond.

The preschool class is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten academically as well as socially and emotionally. At Educare Children's Center, the class size is kept small to provide individual attention as well as small group work, as most children learn best in this type of environment.

The learning center curriculum is developed to build the foundation for reading by having a print rich environment, working on phonemic awareness as well as literacy comprehension. The curriculum focuses on writing formation and using start and stop points.  Art, movement and music are a part of the daily routine as well.

Social skills including, interacting with others, work habits and self help skills will continue to be developed.  The ultimate goal of the preschool classroom is to help build confidence and increase child development to better prepare them for Kindergarten.

The Montessori method utilized at our preschool was pioneered by Maria Montessori.  Born in 1870 in Italy, she became the first woman to receive a medical degree from the University of Rome.  In the first decade of the twentieth century Dr. Montessori observed children carefully and experimented with different materials and teaching methods while visiting schools throughout Europe.  Unimpressed with the teaching styles and methods of the day, Dr. Montessori developed the world famous Montessori Method and Materials.

Dr. Montessori created her curriculum in response to the interest of the child.  The classroom design and materials support both, the absorbent mind and the sensitive periods.  She referred to this specially designed classroom as the “prepared environment”. This environment meets the needs of the young child for movement, order and language.  The environment is prepared in five major areas: practical life, sensorial, language, math and cultural subjects.  One of the purposes of the prepared environment is for children to learn from their experiences without restrictions of time.

At Educare Children's Center our Preschool and kindergarten has adopted the Montessori Method. Our dedicated child care team works hard to help your child grow naturally, with the attention and quality guidance they deserve. Contact us today to learn more about our programs.
